Socks and slippers

Last weekend I managed to finish the socks I was working on and today I eventually got round to sewing away the ends and taking a few pictures.

I'm really pleased with how they turned out and am contemplating giving them away for Christmas, although I'm rather tempted to keep them myself. The Tofutsies yarn is absolutely gorgeous to work with and knits up really beautifully too. We'll see how it washes and wears.

Last weekend I got started on a pair of "pleated ballet flats"; one is done and another one is nearly there. I made a few wee alterations to the pattern, to make it stay on more easily, but I think the need for this may have been related to my ability to read the pattern...

Anyhow, I'll finish this pair and experiment with a few more pairs. They are quick and easy to make and I fancy making a pair that will felt into a proper pair of slippers. For now, I'm knitting in a finer wool than the one recommended and the outcome of course is a child size slipper, but I'm sure I will be able to find a pair of feet for them regardless of the size. I really like this pattern, even if I'm not a 100% sure how to follow it and can't wait to finish one pair so that I can move on to the next.
